TISSNET 2022: Check Syllabus, Exam Pattern & Recommended Books

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences will conduct TISSNET on February 26, 2022. TISSNET Admission Card 2022 will be released on February 14. Candidates will be able to download it from the official website – tiss.edu.

The exam will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. and will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying 1 point each. There is no negative mark in the test. The questionnaire will consist of three sections, namely English Fluency, Mathematical and Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness (GA). English Fluency, Logical Reasoning and Mathematics sections have 30 questions each, General Awareness (GA) has 40 questions.

AT achieve good results in TISSNET, knowing the reason is not enough. The test questions are based on topics such as synonyms and antonyms, verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, basic statistics, basic trigonometry, interpreting data, politics, current affairs, environment, etc. They are designed to assess the analytical ability of students.

Candidates who aspire to pass the TISSNET Exam 2022 should use good comprehensive books and resources to prepare. Some best books for TISSNET 2022 are – Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis, English for General Competitions by Neetu Singh, Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension by Arihant can be referred for the preparation of the English proficiency section.

Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal, Quantitative Aptitude Quantum CAT by Sarvesh Verma are highly recommended books for mathematical and logical reasoning. Manorama Yearbook by Manorama, Current Affairs Yearly by Arihant, General Knowledge 2022 by Manohar Pandey can be used to study General Consciousness. It is also important that candidates keep up to date with news from newspapers, magazines, etc. to get good results in the General Awareness (GA) section.

Questionnaire from the previous year: The TISSNET articles from the previous year are the most important resources for preparation. Candidates must solve as many as they can.

Have a strategic study plan: Have a schedule planned for your preparation. Set daily goals for studying and make sure you meet them.

Work on your English skills: Read books, comprehension, essays, articles to improve your vocabulary. Learn new dictionary words. Browse basic grammar books to identify your misconceptions and correct them.

Work your logical and mathematical skills beyond the books: Learn tricks and shortcuts for solving math questions. Improve your logical thinking by solving brain teasers, brain teasers, etc.

Stay up to date with the news. The General Awareness section has the highest rating weighting. So, find out about national and international news, politics, etc. through various sources.

Stay healthy, confident and positive: Don’t let demotivation or negativity drag you down. Keep motivating yourself. Sleep well, exercise, drink plenty of water and stay healthy for a fresh, focused and positive mind.

TISSNET is a national level entrance examination, held for admission into full-time graduate programs, such as MA, M.Sc, MHA, MPH, etc. Courses are offered at its campuses in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad.
