IND vs SA Boxing Day test: Can Virat Kohli finally score a century in international cricket after 765 days?

“I think playing well in England and Australia will make a big difference in the confidence of this team and their belief that we can move abroad. We can win in any condition and with our bowling team. and batting we have the capacity to win a series in South Africa ”, Pujara told BCCI.

Question 1: What is your experience in South Africa?

Responnse: First of all, this is the best bubble I have been in where you can move around freely. You can have fresh air and there is a lot of space to move around. So, it helps when it comes to your mental preparation. You are much more relaxed and you are in an environment close to nature. I think we have the best support and most of the players have played in South Africa in the past. It is therefore an experienced team and we know what is expected of our team. And in terms of preparation, we’re all set.

Question 2: What is your gaming experience in South Africa?

Responnse: Most teams play well in their home conditions. So it’s the same with the South African team. They’re one of the best bowling teams out there and playing against one of South Arica’s best fast bowlers has always been a challenge. When I first arrived here in 2011, Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel were both in their prime. I visited again in 2013 and 2017. So I understood what was expected and when you are a visiting team you know there is pace and bounce here.

There is sideways movement and facing the fast bowlers is always a big challenge when we come out of India. But this team has learned that and I think it’s a much more balanced batting lineup as well. So I think we can tackle that. With our preparation, we feel that we will be able to put on a great show.

Question 3: How are you preparing for the next round of Tests?

Responnse: With experience you learn so much and I feel like you are just starting to believe in your preparations. You don’t need to change too much because of my tours in South Africa and Australia, I know the conditions a little better than I have done in the past. So with this experience I know how to prepare myself and what types of shots I can play. What kind of blows to avoid. Thus, you are a little clearer in your preparation and in your state of mind.

Cheteshwar Pujara is under fire for staring in the Test series. He hasn’t paid dividends in the last few games with the full support of the team’s management. Its recent average has fallen from its centuries-free overall average over the past two years.
