DOTHAN, Alabama (WTVY) – All bookworms now have a literary escape after the smooth opening of Downtown Books Dothan today. The most recent local business is an independent bookstore with a specially curated collection.
Due to supply chain issues, some things have not yet been completed, the store is waiting for a name sign on the outside along with other small things.
Downtown Books owner Dothan Stacy Fountain says a lot has happened over the past 9 months to make the bookstore possible.
Fountain said, “It’s not just about selling a book, it’s about creating an experience and an environment where people can connect and discuss ideas. So when you create this type of environment, what we really want is just a place to buy a book.
Fountain is excited to be a part of all the changes happening on Foster Street, the store’s grand opening will take place after the New Year. They open early for the holiday season.
