Booktopia opens new offices in Western Sydney

Online book retailer Booktopia has opened its new offices in Sydney’s western suburb of Rhodes.

The company said the new 2,000m² office space would free up space at the company’s distribution center in Lidcombe. Just over 130 company staff will work from the new offices in Rhodes, while logistics and distribution staff will remain at Booktopia’s distribution centers in Lidcombe and Enfield.

Booktopia CEO Tony Nash said the company had outgrown its offices within the Lidcombe distribution centre.

“The move of all of our corporate staff to the new facilities confirms our commitment to being an employer of choice in the Australian e-commerce sector while encouraging greater collaboration between our teams,” said Nash.

“With two dedicated storage and distribution centers (Lidcombe and Enfield) and separate corporate offices, we are now well positioned to achieve the long-term goals we have set for the business in attracting and retaining best people in the industry.”

Nash added that the facilities at Rhodes Business Park, which includes a swimming pool, gym, day care center and direct access to a shopping centre, were a “significant factor” in the move to the new offices.

“The campus-style environment will be a significant step up in terms of amenities for our staff, and when paired with the contemporary, open-plan, fit-for-purpose layout we have built, it will ensure our employees the offices they deserve,” Nash said.
