Ashton Irwin of 5SOS hospitalized: the current state of the singer revealed by the group


Fans were worried after 5 Seconds of Summer was forced to stop their performance midway through their set at The Woodlands in Texas after frontman Ashton Irwin was hospitalized.

According to Metro UK, the band took to their official Instagram account to provide an update on their member’s current status.

They revealed that they had to stop the show halfway through due to a “medical incident”. After experiencing such symptoms, Irwin was taken to a nearby hospital to be tested and examined by doctors.

The singer reportedly suffered from “extreme heat and exhaustion”.

Today, Irwin is feeling well and “recovering well”.

“We apologize to all fans in attendance for the interruption of the show. Ticket holders should check your emails, you will be notified as soon as we have more information. Thank you, 5SOS.”, they concluded .

Irwin also took to his personal account Twitter account to give an update, saying that it’s fantastic to play a “massive energy show”, but their most recent one caused his body to drop out due to heat exhaustion.

When he was taken to hospital by an ambulance, the singer said he was crying because he thought a lot of people had been disappointed by the cancellation of their performance.

“I feel so loved and supported by my brothers and my team and by all of you. ticketing and rescheduling. I love you. Thank you for the love. I’ll be back on stage as soon as possible!” he concluded.

After the group canceled their show, many fans took to Twitter to share their well wishes.

It’s not the first time a musician has been forced off stage due to a medical emergency, as the recent news comes weeks after Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee quit the show to be replaced by Tommy Clufetos.

Prior to their performance at Trust Park in Atlanta, Georgia, the drummer injured himself and he went against doctors’ orders.

Even though he had four broken ribs, he was still able to play five songs throughout the set, including “Wild Side”, “Shout at the Devil”, “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)”, “Saints of Los Angeles” and “Too Fast for Love”.
